The UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of DC proudly serves the Dual Eligible Special Needs (D-SNP) population in the District of Columbia and is excited to recruit for our Clinical Quality Director

The Quality Director of the DC Health Plan is responsible for overseeing all Quality strategies, initiatives and requirements for the District of Columbia Community Plan, as well as for Maryland D-SNP Program, that positively impact the health outcomes for our populations as measured by HEDIS, STARS and other key quality metrics. This individual will serve on the Health Plan Leadership Team, as well as serve as a clinical subject matter expert to the health plan, external partners (including providers) and other key stakeholders.

If you are located or near the District of Columbia, you will have the flexibility to work remotely*, as well as work in the office as you take on some tough challenges. Commute to the office 2-3 times per week.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Quality Strategy & Oversight, including Maryland & DC STARS Strategy and MA Incentive Programs & Implementation, as well as DC Quality Strategy & Implementation in areas such as NCQA Accreditation, PIPs, Health Education, DC Quality Programmatic Requirements, Patient & Provider Experience and more
  • Quality Reporting, Audits and Committees, including contractual reporting / audits oversight & coordination, client-facing presentations, quality and provider-related committees oversight & coordination and more
  • People Management & Development

Required Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of experience in managed care, clinical quality management, healthcare administration and/or public health
  • 3+ years of experience in NCQA, HEDIS and/or STARS measures
  • 2+ years of experience in project and/or program management
  • 2+ years of experience in reporting and/or data analysis
  • 2+ years of experience in managing people
  • 2+ Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Excel
  • 2+ Intermediate level of proficiency with MS PowerPoint and developing client-facing presentations and reports
  • Ability to Commute to the DC Office (655 New York Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20001)
  • Ability to travel 10%


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in Medicaid Managed Care Organizations
  • Experience in Medicaid Quality: NCQA, HEDIS, etc.
  • Experience in D-SNP Quality: STARS
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively problem-solve and resolve issues timely in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate and build relationships within a matrixed, large organization
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbally/written) effectively with different stakeholders, both internal and external

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
