$72,000 - 80,000 base + commission

Job Summary:

The Director, Business Development role is an individual contributor position specifically responsible for

overseeing some or all aspects of live event execution across our book of business. This role is in support

of the SVP, Growth but is also expected to operate in a collaborative startup environment. Growth's key

measure of success is growing qualified leads into clientele and expanding strategic and financial growth

opportunities within existing clientele

Essential Functions:

Core Business Development

* Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their visions and translate

them into impactful live event experiences

* Be an astute problem solver and critical thinker towards' clients' needs in the live event space.

* Identify potential leads in the marketplace and create connections with potential clients

* Have a presence at key networking and promotional events throughout the calendar year,

amplifying the Edge brand and its mission within industries of interest

* Act as the Client Advocate within the Edge team, encouraging thoughtful opportunities to grow

our footprint against limitations and considerations communicated by the team

* Manage and maintain personal sales pipeline within HubSpot or any other Customer Relationship

Management (CRM) software Edge is utilizing

* Maintain and maintain personal task list within ClickUp or any other Project Management

software Edge is utilizing

* Work alongside and collaboratively across internal lines of business and often in close

conjunction with Marketing towards Edge Growth initiatives

* Work with the internal Edge teams to ensure vision, branding, messaging, and all other creative

elements are maintained through a seamless handoff to Production

* Assist in project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on time and

within scope that was negotiated

* Collaborate with any other internal stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the event discussed with

the client are honored or mutually modified

* Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in live events

* May include helping build and refine internal processes, including the documentation and

enforcement of Best Practices as well as training and utility on software utilized

* Have a willingness to perform ad-hoc duties at times to assist in the growth of a startup agency

Client & External Stakeholder Engagement

* Provide strategic guidance and thoughtful solutions to clients throughout the Sales and

Production phases as real-time developments occur

* Present comms to clients and stakeholders, effectively communicating the intended consumer

journeys and inclusion of desired metrics in the output

* Be the primary Point of Contact for clients in the Sales stage and support the Point of Contact for

clients in the Production stage

Budget & Resource Management

* Negotiate mutually agreed scopes of work with each client, always advocating for the optimal

components of consumer journeys against communicated time and resource thresholds

* Assist in agency reporting of closed and active business as well as accurate forecasting

* May Include identifying, implementing, and consistently improving internal practices and

processes to optimize cost and time efficiencies

* Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

* Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in Sales, Strategy, and/or Business Development

role(s).

* Successful history of closing Sales opportunities for high profile global events

* Experience negotiating Sales and Strategies, both internally and externally

Required Skills & Knowledge:

within assigned department. Considers impact of team's decisions.

2. Job Knowledge - Uses in depth knowledge of concepts, principles, and procedures and applies

them to varied and complex situations within assigned department. Keeps up to date on

developments that affect job.

3. Management Skills - Provides on-going guidance and assistance to improve morale and

productivity. Identifies employees for development, succession planning, and training as needed.

Effectively manages underperforming employees to improve or leave.

4. Persuasiveness / Negotiating - Influences and shapes issues and desired outcomes.

5. Presentation Skills - Creates presentations for their managers to deliver. May occasionally deliver

presentations to their teams as required.

Travel Demands:

Travel up to 70% required
