THE POSITION

Begin a new chapter of your career! The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services is actively seeking individuals who have worked with troubled youth or sex offending youth or adults to be part of the Sexual Responsibility Treatment Program team. Our program focuses on individuals who were adjudicated of specific sex crimes and are about to reach their 21st birthday but are still in need of continued treatment to support their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Sexual Responsibility Treatment Program Aide is responsible for carrying out various resident activities related to therapeutic activities such as processing with residents or monitoring their behavioral plans and other activities of daily living such as bathing, oral hygiene, dressing, and room cleanliness for individuals and groups. Your role entails offering guidance and support to residents as they engage in therapeutic activities and perform daily tasks outlined in their personalized treatment plans.

Supporting behavioral change and ensuring safety and control are also part of your responsibilities. It is essential that you possess training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and can effectively demonstrate the necessary competencies in applying these techniques, as well as maintaining certification in MANDT, our current crisis intervention model. Additionally, you are responsible for maintaining a daily log of behaviors, documenting challenges and positive actions in relation to the care plan objectives.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 80-hours biweekly
  • Work hours are 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM), with 30-minute lunch. Rotating schedule, work weekends and holidays as assigned.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Psychiatric or Therapeutic Activities Aide (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Eighteen (18) months of experience in the care, activities and personal guidance of individuals in a behavioral, educational or community-based program.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
