Dover Precision Components, part of the $8 billion stable and growing Dover Corporation, is hiring an Applications Engineer for our Waukesha Bearings business. We offer competitive salary and benefits and the ability to work a remote/ hybrid schedule- 3 days a week onsite at our interactive and innovative Pawcatuck, CT facility, and 2 days a week remotely, if you'd like.

Waukesha Bearings is a market leader in custom- engineered fluid fil bearings, magnetic bearing systems, and seals for high- performing turbomachinery.Because of US government requirements, US Citizenship is required for this role.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

This position will be primarily for support of manufacturing and aftermarket engineering activities for precision components. This will involve support in evaluating and resolving manufacturing problems, response to obsolescence issues and maintenance of the current drawing library comprising designs for Navy applications with a 40+ year history. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Work with manufacturing to resolve non-conformances and improve manufacturing processes for both internal and sub-contract operations
  • Analyze impacts of defects to disposition non-conformances
  • Perform root cause analyses and implement corrective actions
  • Work with supply chain team to resolve obsolescence issues
  • Develop tooling and fixturing in response to changing test requirements
  • Work with designers to maintain manufacturing drawings of current product lines using ECNs
  • Work with designers to upgrade legacy manufacturing drawings to current standards (2D - 3D)
  • Develop close working relationships with key customers' technical contacts, including significant customer interaction with respect to the disposition of non-conformances
  • Participate in client/contractor meetings and resolve client/engineering and management project issues
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Basic understanding of Engineering Principles and design practices
  • Experience creating and developing solutions - problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills - Ability to interface with customers
  • Demonstrated proficiency with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks, CSWA preferred) & strong computer skills
  • Must be familiar with the impact of the manufacturing process on the key factors that control the form, fit, and function of engineered components
  • Ability to travel to customers (mostly local) and manufacturing sites, up to 10% of overnight travel.
  • US Citizen with ability to obtain government clearances.

  • 1-5 years' work experience in manufacturing engineering
  • Experience with precision components such as bearings, seals, valves, or other precise components.

Salary depends on qualifications and background. The salary range is $75,000- 96,000 with a targeted salary of $75,000- $90,000. This is a bonus eligible position with a full range of benefits.

Work Arrangement : Hybrid

Pay Range: $75,000- $96,000; Pay Target of $75,000- $89,000

Bonus Eligible: This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
