The Opportunity

DAT is looking for a versatile Senior User Researcher to join our outstanding UX team based in Denver, Colorado. This role will report to the Sr. Director of UX and work closely with our Lead UX Researcher as well as other cross functional peers and stakeholders. This researcher will help drive product and business strategy in a way that elevates the value of our end user experience.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is curious, inquisitive, and pragmatic. They will be able to:



  • Deliver impactful insights in a lean and fast paced environment
  • Handle multiple research projects across different product spaces and user segments
  • Utilize multiple User Research methodologies depending on the contextual need
  • Help identify which good ideas we must say "no" to
  • Work cross functionally in a way that is collaborative and empowering


What You'll Do



  • Use both quantitative and qualitative UX methods to uncover useful insights about our many user types at DAT.
  • Share user research findings in an easy to understand format, tailoring communication to be audience and venue appropriate.
  • Work in close collaboration with our Product Teams (Cross-functional teams composed of Product Managers, UX Designers, and Engineers) as well as stakeholders to develop research insights that will inform product decisions and strategy.
  • Work collaboratively to empower others; this role understands that many functions can partake in and impact product discovery. You will work to establish guardrails and best practices that successfully empower others to generate unbiased user insights.
  • Generate actionable insights using multiple research methodologies such as user interviews, usability testing, and surveys. Or other reliable and innovative research methods that fit the question at hand.
  • Work at both strategic and tactical level in applying user research to how DAT builds products.
  • Conduct both lab-based and remote testing, iterative concept, prototype testing, and present findings and recommendations.


The Skills and Experience You'll Bring



  • 5+ years related research experience.
  • Experience with using a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative methods to effectively answer product and business questions
  • Experience with end-to-end research operations including participant recruitment, scheduling, stakeholder intake, and organization of insights
  • Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and being embedded within Product-Engineering-UX teams
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize research projects from multiple teams, and proactively identify research questions and opportunities for valuable UX research.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • A strong background in user-centered research and design thinking, through some combination of coursework or relevant experience.
  • Able to critically think about behavioral data, its uses, limitations and impact on the business.
  • Must be able to share a couple of case studies and relevant experiences that highlights the above skills.

For Colorado-based candidates, in compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, theminimum salary for this role is $125,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience.
