Role Description

The Texas Operations (TXO) Site HR Leader plays a strategic role as part of the Site Leadership Team (TXO SLT), integrating HR insights into business strategies and addressing challenges proactively. They are responsible and accountable for employing effective HR strategies across Eastman's second largest chemical manufacturing facility.They focus on talent management by driving employee engagement, enhancing talent acquisition, fostering effective relationships with partner functions (Technology; Worldwide Engineering and Construction; Global Health, Safety, and Environmental; etc.), and leading succession planning to ensure a skilled workforce. The incumbent ensures effective employee relations and compliance, champions health and wellness initiatives, and engages in community partnerships to promote a positive and collaborative work environment.Additionally, the TXO Site HR Leader leads a team of HR generalists, ensuring individual and team development and effective succession planning to ensure sustained, effective client support.The TXO Site HR Leader may also be responsible for generalist support of one or more client organizations as well as offering oversight and/or direction to HR Specialists and Talent Acquisition representatives supporting the site.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnership, the ability to gain trust and confidence of senior leaders, and ability to effectively coach/counsel/guide senior leaders.
  • Serve as a key contributing member of the Site Leadership Team.
  • Uphold Zero Incident Mindset culture through programs, policies, practices that establish related expectations and accountabilities.
  • Contribute to the development of functional and business strategies by providing expert HR insights and recommendations.
  • Act as a key consultant during strategy formulation, ensuring HR considerations are
  • integrated into business plans.
  • Proactively identify and address potential internal and external business challenges and regulatory issues, advising leadership on strategic HR solutions to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Talent Management
  • Drive employee engagement and retention through effective communication, recognition programs, and performance management processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values.
  • Oversee and enhance Talent Acquisition processes to attract and retain top talent, ensuring alignment with the facility's strategic goals.
  • Build strong partnerships with partner organizations, promoting pipeline opportunities that support a skilled workforce pipeline.
  • Lead succession planning efforts by identifying and developing internal talent to ensure a robust pipeline for key positions.
  • Collaborate with leadership to assess future organizational needs and implement strategies that align with long-term business objectives.
  • Facilitate mentorship and career development programs to prepare employees for advancement opportunities.
  • Employee Relations and Compliance.
  • Lead employee relations efforts to foster a positive work environment, addressing conflicts and grievances with fairness and transparency.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations, developing and implementing policies that uphold ethical standards and protect the organization from legal risks.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to management on employee-related matters, promoting a culture of respect and inclusion.
  • Champion health and wellness initiatives, inspiring employees to engage in programs that enhance their well-being and productivity.
  • Actively participate in community partnerships (i.e. Work-Based Learning, Trainee Program, etc.), fostering relationships that support corporate social responsibility and create a positive impact both within the organization and the broader community.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's preferred.
  • 7+ years of HR experience required (preferably having supported a manufacturing facility/organization).
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience required.
  • Demonstrated success as a people leader via individual and team development.
  • Excellent cross-group collaboration, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong systems-thinking ability. Demonstrable experience in analyzing business issues and providing scalable HR solutions that address & align to broader business requirements.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and achieve results in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze HR data and drive solutions or recommendations based on data insights.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HR laws such as EEOC guidelines, FLSA and ADA in US or equivalent labor laws in international locations.
  • Can demonstrate the ability to prioritize based on the highest value add to business.
  • Proficient in HR Systems and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience in leading HR teams and managing complex HR projects
  • Ability to operate effectively in both strategic and tactical types of activities.
  • Technical proficiency with HR tools and administrative systems, along with a strong ability to adapt to new technologies.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision; self-starter with high drive.
