Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (UCCOM), Office of Graduate Education (OGE), Program Manager position supports the needs of around 600 PhD and MS students. The overarching goal of this position is to work with the Assistant and Associate Deans to advance the initiatives and programming of the Office of Graduate Education. The program manager also interacts and works with the OGE program director.

Essential Functions

  • Lead logistics and planning for student-facing OGE events, including poster symposiums, townhall meetings, and professional development workshops.
  • Work closely with Program Director to support OGE programming and events, including CoM orientation and OGE graduate program visitation day.
  • Support OGE outreach and recruitment strategies for Graduate Education initiatives, which includes recruitment for all COM graduate education programs and Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF). Recruitment duties include submitting travel requests, registering for conferences, maintaining financial records, supporting application systems, coordinating travel, and attending various STEM related conferences.
  • Engage and advise students interested in CoM graduate programs and research opportunities, via meetings, presentations, and email.
  • Organize, communicate and support faculty mentor training courses. Track participants and develop training materials and supplies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with CoM graduate program leadership, university colleagues, and external faculty/staff at partner institutions.
  • Create and maintain content for the OGE Instagram, outreach flyers, and websites.
  • Collaborate with UC IT to maintain SURF application portal, OGE websites, and surveys.
  • Coordinate and work with OGE sponsored graduate student groups with room reservations and reimbursements.
  • COM Masters' student advising.
  • Provide support as needed for other OGE tasks and events.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

Three (3) years of relevant experience.

  • Experience creating and delivering presentations to students.
  • Extensive experience in advising and interacting with graduate students, undergraduates, and scholars.
  • Extensive experience in preparing and submitting financial reports and data.
  • Experience organizing events and programming for students and/or faculty.
  • Experience working with faculty, students, and trainee populations.
  • Knowledge of research training programs and graduate student training.
  • Experience in advancing and supporting the needs of students.
  • Experience in promoting and communicating events.
  • Experience in maintaining unit webpages and social media pages.
  • Experience supporting development of training materials and sessions.
