Material Coordinator

Location: Curtis Bay, MD (US Coast Guard Yard)

Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift, Monday-Friday

Compensation: $27.44-$27.44/hr

Tessera is seeking a detail orientated Material Coordinator. This individual is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisors' priorities.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Procures required parts and materials and maintains supporting documentation for all purchases.

  • Prepares, inspects, packages and issues materials/parts/supplies required to fill job orders both manually and in Maximo.

  • Confers with department supervisors to determine overdue material and parts.

  • Locates and distributes materials to specified production areas, manually or using a handcart, hand truck, or forklift.

  • Records and maintains perpetual inventory of quantity and type of materials and parts received, stocked, and distributed, manually or using a computer.

  • Signs in and out common tools from the tool room storage area.

  • Maintains a 98% or higher accuracy rating of all inventory shelf count that is managed in Maximo.

  • Interacts with suppliers daily to resolve transactional issues and gather critical information.

  • Resolves invoice price and term discrepancies to enable order processing.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of warehouse operations or other relevant experience.

  • Proficient in Maximo preferred.

  • Ability to accurately read and understand material orders.

  • Must be able to provide proper input information to the computerized information system.

  • Strong knowledge and experience in computer programs, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Must be able to work independently or in a Team environment.

  • Provide excellent customer service in a professional and courteous manner.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 70 lbs.

Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's license required. Must be able to obtain and maintain approval to operate a vehicle by Tessera's insurance carrier.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
