6400 - PLANT OFFICE - ATSS - ASST. SHIFT SUPERVISOR

TITLE: Asst. Shift Supervisor

POSITION OBJECTIVE: To assure producing the highest food safety and quality product, meeting the customer specifications through safe operation of the assigned equipment. Help section manager to achieve the goal set up by general plant manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED, and one or more years of college preferred.
• Five or more years of experience in industrial or plastic industries preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
• Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Report directly to plant manager.
• Adhere to all plant safety rules and company policies.
• Accurately track and maintain shift employee records, including attendance, and vacation request.
• Conduct performance evaluations of shift personnel.
• Communicate food safety and quality, and housekeeping assignments to personnel in production area.
• Maintain quality of product through knowledge and understanding of quality procedures.
• Maintain knowledge and understanding of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and departmental responsibilities.
• Maintain a high degree of knowledge and compliance of ISO and all related duties, assignments, and areas of concern within the department.
• Maintain knowledge of production goals and effectively communicate them to personnel.
• Fill in during absence of Process Engineer.
• Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills to foster effective collaboration.
• Be available for overtime work as business needs requires.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations at all times.
• Monitor product quality and THM housekeeping standards, ensuring full compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with production personnel to identify and resolve operational issues.
• Oversees the proper handling, reporting, and documentation of workplace injuries.
• Communicate with quality control personnel during audits and inspections.
• Assist with the ISO internal audit processes and assist the Manager in implementing ISO standards and procedures within the department.
• Ensures OSHA and ISO training sessions are scheduled and completed monthly for shift personnel.
• Attend and participate in OSHA and ISO training classes as scheduled or required.
• Communicate issues regarding production paperwork, reports, or quality abnormals.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

• Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.

AUTHORITY / DECISION MAKING:

• Complete authority over shift personnel in absence of Manager.
