Hourly Pay Rate - $36 per hour

Job Summary: The Athletic Official is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the sport by enforcing rules, ensuring fair play, and promoting a positive& respectful environment. This role also serves as a Pickleball Ambassador, helping to facilitate matches while providing exceptional customer service and upholding the standards of Milwaukee County Parks.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain standards of the game & rules enforcement - Officials will referee games to his/her best ability by maintaining the standards, penalize & diffuse behavior & ensure that specified rules are enforced by using the appropriate signals & mechanics while maintaining a high level of professionalism & customer service.
• Paperwork & Recording - Communicate & report any problems or concerns with County Parks Sports Office. Report scores of games (on a daily basis) & turn in game score sheets (on a weekly basis).

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current resident of Wisconsin.
• Valid WI Driver's License
• High School Diploma
• At least One (1) year of experience or knowledge in sports of Softball, Kickball, Pickleball

Preferred Qualifications -

• Working knowledge of the sports of Softball & Pickleball
• Able to maintain control of participants, fans & crowds

NOTE: This original application is open to permanent residents of the state of Wisconsin at the time of application. In accordance with Section 11, Rule 3 of the Civil Service Rules a non-competitive examination will be held for this position. The non-competitive examination will consist of criteria deemed appropriate by the Director of Human Resources.
