Job Duties/Scope Of Work

At the Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo), located in Richland, Washington, we are working to provide a sustainable future for the historic Hanford area through the protection of the Columbia River and the remediation of the Central Plateau. The Environmental Restoration Disposal Facility (ERDF) receives and disposes of low-level radioactive, hazardous and dangerous, asbestos, PCB, and mixed wastes generated by the Hanford Site restoration activities. The waste is transported from the waste generator sites to the ERDF via a DOT compliant transportation group based at the ERDF. The transportation group consists of HAMTC teamsters and HAMTC mechanics to maintain the transportation trucks.
A day in the life of the Transportation Manager includes, but is not limited to:
* Providing and executing an efficient and DOT compliant transportation program at the ERDF for hauling radiological and hazardous waste from multiple waste generator sites across Hanford to the ERDF. Interacting with waste generator points of contact as necessary to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations. * Providing direction and support to the Transportation Supervisor and the Truck/Container Maintenance Supervisor - both are direct reports to the Transportation Manager * Managing RO/RO container maintenance as well as the inventory of active and inactive containers to ensure the mix of active containers supports the needs of waste shipments scheduled by waste site generators. * Managing the ERDF Heavy Fleet which consists of transportation roll-off truck, flat bed rucks, fuel truck, heavy haul transporter etc. * Managing the ERDF/324/100K light vehicle fleets * Ensuring direct report supervisors and craft personnel are current in training needed to perform their job function. * Acting as Technical Authority for ERDF Transportation Procedures and Container Maintenance Procedures. * Acting as BTR for services contracts that support transportation operations and transportation building maintenance/PMs. * Acting as the ERDF POC for HMIS facility repairs/services in 6618-D and MO-607 * Serving as one of the Controlling Organization Administrators (LOTO) for the ERDF * Serving as RM and Release Authority under CPCCo Work Management. * Providing management project status and strategic vision for planning, schedules, and budgets.
Basic Qualifications
Manager Grade 21 - Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience plus 10 years of relevant experience
Desired Qualifications
* Experience managing or supervising bargaining unit personnel * Experience with requirements relative to radiological and dangerous waste facilities. * DOT Transportation Experience in Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. * LOTO Qualified. * Experience serving as a Buyer's Technical Representative (BTR) and managing small to large service contracts.
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.
Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):
Grade 21: $142,038 - $179,113
In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
