Description & Requirements
The Forvis Mazars Long-term Care & Senior Living team provides operational, billing & regulatory services that go beyond the compliance function. Alongside the rest of our team, you will bring credibility to our client's financial picture, communicate information objectively and clearly and provide insight to help clients improve their organizations. Our Long-term Care & Senior Living team is dedicated to helping our clients fulfill their missions and providing timely clarity and relevant expertise to our clients.
How you will contribute:
  • Managing, developing, and coaching professional staff
  • Planning and reviewing Medicare and Medicaid cost reports for skilled nursing facilities and home offices
  • Educating and communicating with clients about the impact of the cost reports on their reimbursement and Medicaid payment rates
  • Understanding client service relationships and how to utilize firm resources to provide unmatched client experiences to existing clients
  • Using technology tools proficiently in regular assignments and demonstrating a commitment to improving work processes through the use of technology
  • Demonstrating the ability to recognize problems and propose sensible solutions, with an appropriate balance between client needs and the firm's risk
  • Consistently identifying engagement and operating opportunities for improvement and providing timely solutions and consultation
  • Managing multiple concurrent engagements without disruption and within scheduled deadlines
  • Providing staff with timely performance feedback
  • Managing multiple client relationships, billings, and resource needs
  • Building personal referral sources and clientele while actively participating in team marketing opportunities
  • Participating in speaking and article-writing opportunities
We are looking for people who have Forward Vision and:

  • Ability to maintain professional client and referral source relationships
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • At least 2 years of relevant healthcare, long-term care, or senior living experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience preparing or reviewing Medicare and Medicaid cost reports
  • Working knowledge of key business processes in long-term care, such as Payroll-Based Journals, Medicare billing, survey processes, Minimum Data Set (MDS), Care Compare, case management, admissions, etc.
  • Familiarity with PointClickCare or other long-term care billing software
  • CPA or CPA-eligible
