Responsibilities

Provide support, coordination, and implementation of site environmental, health, safety, and security regulatory requirements.

Provide support and coordination to ensure site compliance with Federal, State, and local EHSS rules and regulations as directed.

Aid in the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety Programs based on current OSHA and other regulatory applicable standards.

Performs required EHSS inspections and/or compliance audits to identify unsafe conditions and environmental hazards.

Facilitates the Safety Suggestion process and monitors and analyzes the sites Near Misses and incidents for improvement opportunities.

Perform PPE risk assessments and will update written PPE hazard assessments as needed.

Provide support to ensure the site's covered areas comply with OSHA's Process Safety Management Standard as well as EPA's Risk Management Plan Rule.

Advise managers on safe work practices and the elimination of environmental hazards.

Provide guidance and support in accident, near miss, and chemical spill/release incident investigations.

Monitors and ensures compliance with site Health and Safety Programs and Emergency Response Plans.

Aids in gathering data for completing regulatory EHSS reporting requirements for local, state, and federal agencies.

Aids in the implementation of programs to increase environmental compliance awareness.

Tracks EHSS training completion for site employees. Schedules and conduct makeup training as needed and directed.

Coordinate New Hire EHSS Orientation Training program

Perform contractor safety risk assessments and assist with JSA's

Research and recommend safety equipment and solutions, solicit quotes, and procure equipment and supplies.

Review completed Life Critical Permits (Safe Work, LOTO, Hot Work, Line Break, & Confined Space Entry) and ability to advise on deficiencies/areas of improvement.

Assist in management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste areas.



Qualifications

Associate degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, STEM or related field preferred. No degree is acceptable if relevant experience and training has been acquired.

2-5 years of related environmental, health, & safety work experience in a manufacturing and/or construction environment.

Relevant experience with EPA, ADEM, OSHA, & DHS regulations.

Ability to identify areas for safety improvement in production processes.

Good interpersonal skills.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Good organizational skills.

Proficient using company software and MS Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Ability to wear respiratory protection including being medically cleared and fit tested.
