What your day in this role may involve:Our North CharlestonMachine Assistant /PACKERpositionsprovide essential support to machine operatorsand are fundamental inensuring finished product meets customer specs. These positions work on a production-rewind machine, palletizing industrial rolled-goods, customizing product in preparation for shipment - and, providing a pivotal last-look in our quality-focused process. Growth-training is providedin preparation for transitioning to machine operator. Team members are involved in daily manufacturing processesand successful outcomes for our facility and its customers.

What makes a successful OC-Charleston team member:

Must haves include...

• Experience in manufacturing or industrial setting
• Be flexible, engaged and accountable
• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• Experience with (and willingness to work) 8, 10 or 12-hour shifts
• Be able to:
  
  
  
  • Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
  • Work safely and follow all plant rules
  • Show initiative, be a self-starter
  • Communicate, in English, in a clear and effective manner
  • Work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Have shift flexibility
  • Read/use a tape measure and perform basic math
  
  
  
  

Past work experience with the following would also be terrific...

• Warehouse environmentsthat areNOT climate controlled
• Basic computer / keyboard skills

There are someessential physical requirements specific to our work environment, including being able to:

• Stand for 10 - 12 hours straight
• Withstand exposure to temperature extremes; sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable
• Do repetitive movements (hand, arm, leg; bending and twisting at the waist; bending at the knee; squatting; lift, push and pull 40-pounds)
• Climb and descend stairs/ladder as needed for the role
• Handle, control and feel raw materials and finished goods
• Pass drug screenings (pre-hire and ongoing-random)
