COPAL, Communities Organizing Latine Power and Action, is a member-based organization established in 2018 to improve the quality of life of Latine families. Grounded in the Principles of Jemez, COPAL is committed to continue building meaningful relationships that transcend both identity and geographical boundaries. COPAL envisions a Minnesota where everyone lives with dignity and respect.

Wages

$20.00 per hour

Benefits

Paid Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST); COPAL sponsors a retirement plan with 4% employer match plus a 2% employer contribution after one year of service and immediate vesting.

Schedule

This is a temporary position that works 10 hours per week, from June to December 31st, 2025.

A Typical Day in the Life...

A typical day as COPAL's Organizing Fellow provides an opportunity to contribute to COPAL's programming and civic activities while gaining professional development training and experiences. Responsibilities will include the following:



  • Participating in events related to our C3 civic engagement efforts.
  • Participating in department meetings.
  • Assisting in the development of presentation materials.
  • Learning about COPAL's operations and services and developing a strong understanding of the organization.
  • Learning about COPAL's web design tools, heat press, and similar systems to support the production of social movement materials: t-shirts, bags, posters, buttons, etc.
  • Coordinating with COPAL's Communications Department as needed.
  • Contributing to distribution efforts, including community events.
  • Learning to engage COPAL members in creative design and production processes.



Who You Are



  • You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • You demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • You are a strong collaborator and demonstrate a willingness to learn.
  • You demonstrate bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and verbally).
  • You are available to work through December 2025.
  • You have a valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet COPAL's driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).
