Motion Designer (mid-level) Summary: We are seeking a versatile and collaborative Motion Designer to join our creative design team supporting a leading first-party app. In this role, you will work cross-functionally to create engaging, high-quality video and motion content that enhances the user experience and contributes to broader product and marketing goals. Our Ideal Candidate: - 5-7 years of experience in motion design, animation, or video production - Passion for visual storytelling and user experience with a strong foundation in UX/UI animation principles - Proficient in After Effects (including compositing and plugins), with strong video editing, typography, and storytelling skills - Familiar with production pipelines, asset management, and iterative design processes - Skilled in collaborating with design, product, and engineering teams - Able to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment - Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities, timelines, and stakeholder needs - Strong written and verbal communication with exceptional attention to detail - A creative problem-solver with a collaborative spirit Job Description: In this role, you will create polished motion graphics and animations for in-app experiences, videos, and marketing assets. You'll partner with cross-functional teams including UX/UI designers, product managers, and engineers to ensure creative consistency, technical accuracy, and to enhance usability and delight users. This includes contributing to ideation, storyboarding, prototyping, and post-production editing. You will also support the team by helping define and maintain animation pipelines, recommending new tools and plugins to optimize workflow and output quality, contributing to the team's creative process and efficiency. Education: - Bachelor's degree in Design, Motion Graphics, Animation, or related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience - Background in motion design, UX/UI animation, or video production Additional Requirements: Please include a portfolio demonstrating strong motion design and UX/UI animation work This opportunity is located in Culver City, CA and requires hybrid work 3 days per week onsite The pay for this W-2 position ranges from $55.00 - $59.20 per hour This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements.
