This opportunity is in the Information Technology department

Role Description:

Are you passionate about building data solutions that drive insights and innovation? As a Data Engineer II at Safety National, you'll play a key role in the development and support of our enterprise data processes and systems. Reporting to our Lead Data Engineer and Data Architect, you'll work collaboratively with business analysts, project managers, and internal stakeholders to understand requirements and implement solutions using best practices and team strategies. You'll use your intermediate ANSI SQL skills to support both our Snowflake and SQL Server environments and help shape the future of our Next Generation Data Warehouse. This role provides a great opportunity for someone who is eager to grow into modern technologies, including Python and Git, while continuing to support essential legacy tools like SSIS and SQL Server Agent. Qualifications:

Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.

Required Qualifications:



  • 5 or more years of experience in Information Services or related fields, or a combination of relevant certifications.
  • Experience with Snowflake, MS SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with integration tools such as Qlik Replicate/Compose, SSIS, or Informatica.
  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
  • This position allows for a hybrid work schedule which includes a minimum of 3 days per week in our St. Louis Corporate Office, located at 1832 Schuetz Rd. Saint Louis, MO. All employees are required to submit work from home requests and follow our Work From Home policy, which will be provided to all candidates selected to interview.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Exposure to cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCS.
  • Understanding of BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS.
  • Knowledge of MDM tools like Microsoft Master Data Services or Alation.
  • Willingness to learn Python, Git, and other emerging tools and technologies.
  • Experience working in Agile environments, with preference for SAFe methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a collaborative team environment.

Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
