The foundation of our work with children begins with developmentally appropriate practice, which is an approach to teaching grounded in the research on how young children develop and learn and in what is known about effective early education. All of our programs are licensed by the Department of Social Services-Community Care Licensing Division. We follow all Title 22 rules and regulations, as well as Title 5 California Educational Code Regulations (for our subsidized centers). The indoor and outdoor environment, as well as the program curriculum, are planned and facilitated by teachers who maintain Child Development Permits issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Our centers provide nurturing and engaging environments where children make connections, are supported in their desire to explore and develop into healthy, compassionate, and creative individuals. The UCI Infant Toddler Center offers a full-day infant/ toddler program for children 3 months to 30 months of age.Morning and afternoon snack is served, as well as a hot lunch each day. Your Role on the Team Reports to the Practice Manager, the HTLIII Supervisor is a working supervisor and COA/COT within the clinic. Shares day-to-day supervisory responsibilities with the Practice Manger, interviews, orients and trains new technical staff. Directs workflow, coaches and disciplines technical staff, defines performance expectations, assures excellent customer service, ensures staff competency, maintains accurate records, provides for effective communication and encourages ongoing employee development. Handles issues as regards to customer service, service to practitioners, problem solving, registration issues and patient financial services. Demonstrates the highest degree of proficiency in use of all equipment and performance of technical ophthalmic procedures. Performs preliminary examinations, including recording patient history, testing visual acuity, iIntra-ocular pressure, neutralizing current lenses with the lensometer, automated and simple manifest refractions, and screening color tests. Performs special tests based on physicians' orders including keratometer readings, visual fields, GDX, topography, and axial length measurements. Triages patient and pharmacy telephone calls and prescription refills, intervening with physicians as appropriate. In conjunction with the Manager, coordinates front and back office operations and scheduling to maximize patient and office flow and assists in assessing training needs of staff.
