Job Description

Westat is seeking e-QIP agents to join its team. As an e-QIP Agent, you will have a broad array of responsibilities. e-QIP Agents have to update e-QIP applicant statuses and upload documents into a Dept. of ED system called IPAM. This system monitors the status of all e-QIP applicants, and it is absolutely important that no mistakes are made in this system. Whenever a change is made in this system or a document has been uploaded, the e-QIP Agent who made the change is responsible for alerting the Dept. of ED IPAM team via email.

The position is to work 5 days per week on-site at our office location in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and requires individuals who are dependable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a team environment.

Job Responsibilities:
* Responsible for helping applicants with their application over the phone or on Zoom/Teams calls. This whole process can sometimes take up to two hours, so patience is key.
* Assemble hardcopy information packets.
* Mail out packets (via inter-office mail as well as FedEx)
* Email applicants, schedule phone calls and check voicemail messages.
* Be willing to learn and use virtual platforms (Zoom/MS Teams) for meetings and calls.

Basic Qualifications:
* Experience with Microsoft Office.
* US Citizenship is required by contract.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Previous work experience in a field room environment or similar.
* Prior customer service experience.
* High school diploma/GED.

Minimum Qualifications:
* Must be able to go through e-QIP background clearance.
* Must have excellent attendance at the on-site location in Gaithersburg, MD.
* Ability to work within a team setting, be a team player, and adapt to changing conditions.
* Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to in-house and field staff, both verbally and in writing.
* Excellent customer service experience.
* Maintain a safe and secure working environment.

These assignments are temporary hourly positions. Benefits are based on hours worked and tenure.
