The Senior Software Architect is involved in overseeing software system design and architecture, providing technical leadership, and ensuring integration with third-party systems like digital health platform. This position will manage technical deliverables from our vendor and enhance the scalability, performance, and security of our software ecosystem.

General Responsibilities

  • Lead software system design and architecture for the Obstructive Sleep Apnea team.

  • Define integration points and needs from third-party integrations like Connected common digital health platform, external third party connected devices like wearables

  • Provide technical guidance to support business and technical teams.

  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

  • Ensure software scalability, performance, and security.

  • Guide technical deliverables from the vendor.

  • Lead architecture reviews and approve design decisions for mobile and cloud projects.

  • Establish technical standards and ensure consistent implementation across teams.

  • Deep technical expertise across modern cloud infrastructure, mobile application frameworks, and enterprise-scale distributed systems

  • Strong technical leadership skills.

  • Expertise in software system design and architecture.

  • Experience with third-party integrations and stakeholder communication.

  • Knowledge of scalability, performance, and security best practices.

  • Ability to lead and mentor a software core team.

Skills and Experience

  • Software Architect requires 10+ years of experience in software architecture or engineering, with significant experience in both cloud and mobile ecosystems.

  • Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and microservices architecture.

  • Strong experience with native mobile app development (Swift, Kotlin, Objective-C/Java/C#/.NET/MAUI) and/or cross-platform frameworks (e.g. Flutter, React Native).

  • Proven track record of architecting high-performance, scalable distributed systems.

  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud security principles.

  • Medical device or Health care experience is highly preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

  • Software Architect requires a BS and 14 years experience or MS and 12 years experience.

  • Senior Software Architect requires a BS and 14 years experience or MS and 12 years experience.

Location, Schedule, & Travel Requirements

  • This position will be a hybrid schedule and located in the Houston, TX area.

  • Occasional travel may be required.

Pay Transparency

  • A reasonable estimate of the annual base salary for this position is $190,000 - 205,000, plus discretionary annual bonus. Pay ranges may vary by location and are awarded based on experience.
