Responsibility for leading operation of one or more plant value streams. implements under the direction of Business Unit Manager, Parker Lean system and Win Strategy to ensure a safe work environment, drive quality improvements, provide premier customer service, develop a qualified workforce, reduce operating costs, inventories and lead times through continuous improvements. Oversee day-to-day activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly and annual expectations.

Advocate and support the Corporate WIN Strategy by managing and improving the quality, cost, delivery, morale and safety of a production area. Supervise and direct work activity of hourly team in assigned area. Distribute workload appropriately, Motivate and empower team. The employee has the responsibility and authority to identify the status of production materials and act with such materials as defined in controlled plans and work instructions. Coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure that production and quality of products meet specifications and customer requirements.

  1. Responsible for developing and leading associates of assigned plant value stream(s). Responsible for leading all aspects of the plant value stream(s) under the direction of the Business Unit Manager to include utilization of team consensus to evaluate decisions, ensure rapid implementation of decisions, and adherence for team leads and associates.
  2. The Mfg. Value Stream Team Leader will meet with Manufacturing leads regularly. Reflecting on problems, solutions, and challenges, thereby creating a culture of continuous improvement.
  3. Leads the plant value stream(s) in daily operations and continuous improvements, which include but are not limited to: supply chain, production control, manufacturing priorities and coordination between all shifts in the value stream. The Value Stream Team Leader will assist the Business Unit Manager to create continuous product flow and to level the workload.
  4. Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work and processes are followed, needed adjustments are implemented and the area is compliant with safety and 5S requirements.
  5. Instill and maintain a positive team atmosphere in the Value Stream(s); hold regular team meetings and assign team member tasks and coordinate support activities form departments outside of the team.

Utilize PDCA in conjunction with Tracking Centers and Team Improvement Boards to ensure results. 6. Provide effective cross training for Value Stream associates and backups from other value streams to assure the continuous smooth running of the value stream. Encourage team to stop and fix problems in order to get quality right the first time.

Maintains Team Improvement Boards. A visually controlled environment must be developed to assure no problems are hidden

Essential Duties and Responsibilities/Daily Standard WorkMust Note Accountability in the Mixing facility for:

  1. Safety
  2. Quality
  3. Productivity
  4. Housekeeping

Safety star point leader along with maintenance supervisor

Make decisions about OT and coverage by staying on top of backlog and coordinating with customer service and scheduling.

TIB updated and functioning, monthly report out on results to HR.

Lead RTB meeting daily with safety walk prior and keep Daily Performance File updated

Monitor email and utilize the team to respond to urgent customer needs for compounds, materials, or other request and effectively communicate back in a timely manner

Communicate with off shift Team Leaders daily regarding Safety, 5S, and production goals and urgent customer needs.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3- 5 years' management or supervisory experience.
  • Sufficient background in accounting, PC skills, manufacturing, and inventory control.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and teambuilding skills. Ability to assess and develop individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for challenges. Serve as model by promoting safety, new ideas and positive change.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with LEAN teams or leading LEAN teams is preferred.
