About the opportunity
SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking an Assistant Project Archaeologist to support renewable energy, transmission, and other industrial development projects, reporting into Sheridan, Wyoming. This position is a regular, full-time, hourly position and will be a combination of field- and office-based. Under supervision of a Cultural Resources Team Lead and Project Manager, an Assistant Project Archaeologist leads field and office tasks while working with and supervising crew members. Those with more experience are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their overall qualifications and experience level. The successful candidate will manage fieldwork by supervising crews, and will assist with office-based tasks, including preparation of site forms, technical reports, and research in support of primarily renewable energy and transmission projects. Some projects include overtime hours and often require travel and overnight stays. Project-related travel and lodging costs are covered, and per diem is provided for project work requiring overnight stays. In addition, a technical (i.e., cell phone) allowance is offered. Anticipated work will occur primarily in Wyoming but will extend into adjacent states. Candidates with previous experience in this geography are strongly preferred. An employee in this Sheridan, Wyoming-based position can expect an hourly pay rate of $26.78 - $33.99/hr. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law.
