Langley Federal Credit Union is currently hiring for a Full Time Recruiting Specialist to work on-site from our City Center Office located in Newport News, VA.

Job Summary:

Langley's recruiting team is growing! Langley is looking for an additional Recruiting Specialist to execute on Langley's people strategies by identifying and acquiring top talent both internally within Langley and externally. The Recruiting Specialist sources and screens applicants, consults with the hiring manager and other team members to identify talent needs and recommends recruiting strategies. They model Langley culture and values and deliver an exceptional Langley experience to all applicants, candidates, new hires, and Langley team members.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Performs full cycle recruiting activities, including passive and active sourcing. Screens resumes, interviews candidates, and administers appropriate assessments and background checks.
  • Consults with hiring managers to determine hiring needs and recommends recruiting strategies.
  • Develops and maintains an excellent relationship with internal and external clients to ensure achievement of staffing goals.
  • Makes recommendations for hire (or not hire) and delivers employment offers for both exempt and nonexempt positions.
  • Recommends and uses multiple resources to identify and attract quality candidates. Identifies new, innovative ways to recruit, select, and retain new employees.
  • Provides input to the OD team on talent processes. Provides feedback to Talent Partner to enable continuous improvement of talent practices and tools including pre-hire screening and assessment interview questions and techniques.
  • Assists in developing tools or strategies to improve the quality of hires, the candidate/ employee experience, and to increase retention of new employees.
  • Solicits feedback from business partners and candidates on the recruiting process to enable continuous improvement.
  • Communicates important employment information during delivery of employment offers (e.g., benefits, compensation, onboarding activities, non-compete agreements, etc.).
  • Works with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan compliance.
  • Manages current candidate activity in the HRIS recruiting module and provides recruiting reports to manager and other stakeholders.
  • Articulates Langley's culture and value proposition to prospective hires.
  • Performs other special projects and other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or equivalent combination of education/training and experience.
  • Minimum of three years recruiting experience REQUIRED.
  • Demonstrated results with recruiting in a fast-paced, high growth environment required.
  • Recruiting for a financial institution is a plus.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP,) HRCI Certification or Talent Acquisition certification credential preferred.
