Staffmark is proud to partner with a reputable company in Monroe, LA, to fill the role of Payroll Accountant. This direct hire opportunity offers the chance to work alongside

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Salary: $30,000 - $45,000/year (Based on experience)

Responsibilities:



  • Accurately process bi-weekly or monthly payroll using ADP, including hours, deductions, and tax calculations
  • Maintain and update payroll records; resolve discrepancies and manage employee benefits and garnishments
  • Prepare and post journal entries related to payroll and general accounting
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and vendor communications
  • Reconcile bank and payroll accounts, as well as general ledger entries
  • Generate financial documents such as payroll summaries and expense reports
  • Support month-end and year-end closings, audits, and ensure compliance with payroll regulations



Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Accounting or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing (ADP experience strongly preferred)
  • Background in accounts payable/receivable and general accounting principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to handle confidential information professionally
