Job Description:

OREGON YOUTH AUTHORITY Administrative Specialist 1

Woodburn, Oregon - Physical Plant Operations (MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility)

We are looking for a detail-oriented Administrative Specialist 1 to support our Physical Plant Operations team. This role provides key administrative support and coordinates maintenance and facility operations across regional sites. The ideal candidate brings strong writing and organizational skills, applies an Equity Lens in their work, and demonstrates integrity and professionalism. Responsibilities include processing invoices, maintaining accurate records, coordinating support services, and serving as a liaison between the Central Office and regional staff. Proficiency in standard office software such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word, experience with invoice or procurement systems, and effective communication are essential.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience that includes records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data; OR

  • An associate degree in general office occupations and one year of experience with records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data; OR

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Driver License Required:

Driving is an essential function of this position. A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s).

  • Hybrid Telework: This position is hybrid work, with twice a week required in-office days at a facility, field office, and/or Central Office. In-office day requirements may change depending on business needs. Remote work is evaluated periodically to ensure business needs are being met and can be adjusted at any time.
