ABOUT THE LABOR & DELIVERY DEPARTMENT AT St. Elizabeth's Medical Center: Registered Nurses in Labor and Delivery provide the highest quality of care to our diverse patient population. Our L&D team has a strong quality improvement focus and our nurses are always developing unique solutions for their patients. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Deliver exceptional nursing care in the, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients * Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families * Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues * Update and manage patient records * Enter and interpret computerized data/information * Follow guidelines and policies established by SEMC's nursing organization * Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects JOB REQUIREMENTS: * Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. * Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years * Certification in basic life support (BLS) * Advanced Cardiac Life support(ACLS) * Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification * Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Intermediate or Advance Certification * 2 years experience Labor and Delivery * Experience with electronic health record preferred * Effective verbal and written communication skills * Physical ability to meet job responsibilities. * Basic computer proficiency. * Fluency in another language a plus. * JOB BENEFITS: * Competitive pay * Staff self-scheduling * Weekend/Night shift differentials * Tuition reimbursement * Highly subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance options * Nurse staffing plans that often exceed state standards for quality and safety * Supportive work environment with a focus on training, professional development, and growth 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, 7a-7:30p, every 3rd weekend, holiday rotation.
