Annual Salary range of $108,000-$140,000 based on applicant profile. Your challenges: Design, Prototype, and Test Develop medium and high-level software in a mixed computing environment with an emphasis on three arenas: 1) full stack development 2) security and access control, and 3) data management. Full stack development of both server and browser aspects with ownership over a variety of technologies Improve existing software based on requirements and requests from customers and colleagues. Assist in the design process of new systems and architectures and inform the development of better programming practices and procedures. Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues that may cross over into other domains including the embedded Linux supervisory software, external software modules, IT, networking, custom and standard communication protocols, PLC systems and electrical. Provide technical support in subject matters concerning performance, installation, optimization, maintenance, system testing, and documentation of software. Performs hands-on work as needed including operation of physical or virtual robotic systems primarily for the purposes of software development and testing. Subject matter expert at level 3 in at least one competency area relevant to the company. Level 3 is indicative of mastery of the subject matter such that the knowledge is effectively applied with no guidance or assistance. Project Leadership Crafts project plans, setting goals/target specs, and KPIs. Owns the quality of execution, iteration speed, quality of the decision-making, and quality of the results (as appropriate) of projects. Leads projects and is responsible for technical leadership within projects. Consistently and successfully delegates work and divides up complex tasks for project teams. Manages outside projects and or teams when necessary. Engages with the outside world in areas relevant to the company; leverages existing capabilities of outside firms, experts, and institutions to the project's advantage. People Development Develops, plans, and executes projects and leads one or more engineers technically. Guides and trains other members of the project team. Assists in the career development of one or more junior engineers. Interface with and manage contract software engineering teams or individuals. Ability to work with people across multiple time zones and cultural backgrounds Your Boarding Pass: Education: Required Bachelor of Science in Software or Computer Engineering or related field Experience: Required Seven or more years of experience with a Bachelor's degree. Five or more years of experience with a Master's Degree. Three or more years of experience with a PhD. Full stack development experience working with both browser and server Serenity developers: comfort programming in JavaScript. Experience programming with Typescript, Json, React and Node.js. Optional AngularJS experience. Basic networking experience. Database experience is also desired UI framework experience, for example Material UI, Next.js, D3 Strong usability design sense for UI screens or Web APIs. Experience in UI/UX design best practices is also desired Scripting experience: python, shell is also desired Experience in some or all of the following protocols: HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, REST APIs, Websockets, CAN, I2C, SPI, RS-232, RS-485. The ability to understand, develop, and debug high-level software routines as well as system-wide software architectures. Past ownership with large parts of a project Experience on projects involving physical hardware systems and various types of users Knowledge of modern programming practices, along with a willingness to work with and troubleshoot code designed to older standards. Working knowledge of the following platforms: Windows desktop and Linux embedded products. Cloud experience is an asset. Experience in some or all of the following protocols: REST APIs, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, Websockets, CAN, I2C, SPI, RS-232, RS-485. Proficient in reading/interpreting JSON and XML Discipline and organization with respect to software maintenance and version management. Experience with source configuration management tools (git). The interpersonal skills and knowledge to work within an engineering development team that spans multiple disciplines (electrical, software, mechanical, systems engineering). Not a 100% match?
