Facility Maintenance

Interstate Power Systems is hiring a committed Facility Maintenance Associate for our Lakeville, Minnesota location. This role involves routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections across our diesel shops, warehouse, and office environments. As a union position, it is subject to union dues.

Job Duties:

• Evaluate condition of the facility interior and exterior and perform minor repairs and maintenance.
• Communicate with Service and/or Branch Manager about any work that requires outside expert assistance.
• Keep building in clean and orderly condition by performing minor cleaning duties not performed by our cleaning service as needed.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Keep restrooms clean and supplied.
• Keep break room clean and supplied.
• Receive and respond to reports of maintenance issues on premises.
• Perform snow and ice removal on sidewalks and areas of lots as needed (we have an outside service that plows and salts lots).
• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code
• Fill requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distributes items to workers.
• Assists parts department and service department as needed.

Desired Qualities/Skills:

• Working experience in a customer service, customer focused position
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working experience as a delivery driver
• Experience using Word, Outlook, etc., preferred

Position Requirements

• Must have valid driver's license
• Ability to lift to 35 lbs. consistently
• Good knowledge of the area, and ability to read maps and follow specific directions
