Responsibilities

The Account Manager-MICE is responsible for managing the business relationship between YES and a portfolio of small to mid-size meetings clients ensuring retention and growth. The account manager will consistently seek out opportunities to optimize the clients' meetings program, expand the scope of our services and identify new meetings management opportunities, maximize savings and deliver exceptional service to the event host and/or sponsor while also driving to increase profitability for YES. Will Work with client and operations to identify and implement business plan for revenue growth and retention.

  • Promote the YES value proposition with the client. Ensure quality customer service. Act as client advocate and represent client issues and lead internal collaboration to resolution. Consult with clients to establish realistic and effective goals for the operation, understand potential threats to retention and opportunities for growth of the business.
  • Regularly evaluate portfolio and client data for opportunities to introduce additional YES or other Altour products, services and preferred suppliers as appropriate. Consult with the client to identify opportunities for organic growth.
  • Inform and educate the client. Establish and sustain regular contact with the portfolio through regular communication for the purpose of increasing effectiveness, identifying potential triggers that could impact retention, understanding the client needs, ensuring all service delivery obligations are suitable and articulating the value of Travel Leaders Corporate. All clients should have personal contact by phone at least once a month and in-person quarterly business review.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to build and maintain client relationship. A strong bias towards action with strong time management organization skills.
  • Work with VP of Sales to identify revenue opportunities for all accounts within portfolio. Utilize knowledge of triggers to regularly assess and immediately communicate potential vulnerabilities.

Provide expertise, communication and direction in the following areas of relationship management:

  • Client Management & Service - 100% Account Retention
    • Be consultative; deliver all critical customer objectives.
    • Develops and maintains a professional working relationship with client base to ensure satisfaction, account retention, and achievement of service standards.
    • Constantly seek out opportunities for revenue growth
    • Raise awareness of potential retention vulnerabilities
  • Client Growth
    • Identify ways to grow each account in the portfolio through expansion of scope, new customers or simply more meetings. Promote new products and services to increase revenue.
  • Client Profitability
    • Work with Service Delivery Director to monitor client trends and profitability to maximize overall company profits - increase profit through price increases and addition of profitable services
  • Increase Knowledge
    • Enroll and subscribe to leading industry communications to maintain knowledge of current industry trends, practices and technologies.
    • Regularly participate in Client Strategies meetings and education sessions to maintain and understanding of departmental goals and priorities.
    • Participate in internally offered educational programs as defined by VP of Sales.
    • Participate in industry events as directed by VP of Sales (IMEX,PCMA, SITE)


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • 7 years operational experience either as a meeting professional or with hotel operational experience
  • 3-5 years proven success in selling providing account management
  • Completion of Recipes for Success 1 & The Challenger Sale book
  • Travel up to 40%
