A genetic counseling assistant (GCA) works closely with and under the supervision of genetic counselors (GCs) who serve patients who have or are at risk for inherited diseases. This GCA role will specifically support and work with UVA Health's two cardiac genetic counselors as well as other providers, such as physicians and nurses/nurse practitioners, within the Department of Cardiology.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor's degree preferred. Preference given to individuals who have completed a GCA training course. Experience: Experience: Two years of administrative experience. Licensure: None PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers but can require the carrying of multiple testing kits across the hospital campus.
