About the Job

Administration (50%)

  • Manage the operation and administration of assigned sport program.
  • Represent the Director and or staff at meetings and functions.
  • Hire, train and supervise student managers.
  • Assist in advancing the department's mission, vision, and strategic plan.
  • Scheduling of facilities for practices and team events.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of program operating budget.
  • Coordinate team meals and events.
  • Know and understand NCAA rules related to the on-going performance of duties within an NCAA Division I program and commitment to follow those rules.
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of team travel including flights, buses, meals, lodging and team itineraries.
  • Coordinate team schedules and calendars.
  • Meet Management: Home Cross Country and Track & Field Competitions
  • Other Duties as assigned by Director of Cross Country/Track & Field

Recruiting Coordination 50%

  • Coordinate on campus/off campus recruiting efforts
  • Coordinate all mailings, email, social media content for recruiting
  • Organize and maintain all current and future recruits in Teamworks recruiting system
  • Off campus recruiting prospects
  • Research and find future recruits that meet program standards

Expected Start Date: July 1, 2025

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or combination of related education and work experience to equal four years

Preferred

  • Master's degree
  • Previous Operations experience, preferably at the Division I level
  • High school and/or college cross country or track & field experience as a student-athlete or coach
  • Must be able to demonstrate authorization to work in the United States at the University of Minnesota by the start date

With more than 140 years of tradition, Gopher Athletics is one of the oldest and most decorated athletics departments in the country. Minnesota was a charter member of the Big Ten Conference. The University of Minnesota sponsors 22 varsity intercollegiate athletic teams and is represented by more than 625 student-athletes who compete in the Big Ten and Western Collegiate Hockey Association. Minnesota has claimed 29 national championships in eight different sports and has won 217 regular-season conference titles and 42 conference tournament championships. Minnesota has also produced 213 Academic All-Americans, which ranks as the tenth most all-time among college and universities. Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $44,146.00 - $46,000.00 annually; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment Category: 75%-100% Appointment (If job description above does not specify appointment or expected weekly hours, assume a 100% appointment.)
