Job Description

Provides direction and guidance to Billing Associates. Performs billing, collections, third party reimbursements, computer data entry and retrieval.

Job Responsibility

1.Provides direction and guidance to Billing Associates in the performing of billing, receivable and related functions.
2.Performs billing, collections, third party reimbursements, computer data entry and retrieval.
3.Addresses more complex assignments, as needed.
4.Performs charge and payment entry; also performs coding and ensures accurate completion of coding for all assigned physician specialties.
5.Aids review of physician's coding and identify possible conflicts in rules.
6.Notifies physician when discrepancies are identified for correction.
7.Coordinates incoming mail with open queue charges to maintain queue status.
8.Reads and interprets insurance explanation of benefits; responds to insurance payer edits, rejections, and denials; identifies cause of rejections and chooses most appropriate methods to resolve them.
9.Works with revenue cycle to facilitate billing, troubleshoot issues and resolve disputes.
10.Creates detailed, well-versed typed letters to insurances and patients.
11Creates effective appeal packages to submit to insurances.
12.Communicates in an effective professional manner when speaking with insurances and patients.
13.Maintains organized files of incoming and completed work.
14.Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification

Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
5-7 years of relevant experience, required.
