POSITION SPECIFICS

Do you have a knack for storytelling, a sharp editorial eye, and an interest in developing video projects? The College of Engineering is looking for an early-career Creative Content Specialist to join our dynamic communications team. In this role, you'll write engaging content that connects with diverse audiences and play a key part in managing multimedia projects that showcase the real-world impact of our students, alumni, and research.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of writing, logistics, and creative collaboration - and wants to grow their skills in higher education marketing.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree 1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

Primary Duties:

Write content for alumni engagement and development communications. Create marketing messaging to reach prospective student audiences. Develop content for a variety of our platforms-web, email, print, and more-with an eye for what resonates best with each audience. Assist in the planning and coordination of video projects, including creative brief development, outreach and scheduling, and interview prep.Draft interview questions, conduct interviews, and manage logistics for on-site filming. Work closely across the Communications and Marketing team to maintain consistent tone, style, and brand messaging and shape content strategy. Schedule and organize photography sessions, including coordination with student interns and faculty. Provide website maintenance support as necessary.

What We're Looking For:

  • A strong writer with samples of published or portfolio work who knows how to adapt voice and tone for different platforms and audiences.

  • Highly organized and good at juggling multiple projects and meeting deadlines.

  • Experience or interest in interviewing, journalism, and/or video storytelling.

  • Natural communicator comfortable engaging in-person with a variety of stakeholders.

  • Curious about engineering, technology, and higher education-and eager to learn.

  • Someone who will pitch in with copywriting, editing, and project coordination as needed-we're a collaborative team that thrives when supporting each other.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $46,400.00 - $67,300.00.
