Velosity CMD is searching for a Mold Build Manager to support our manufacturing facility in Forest Lake, MN.

This position will report to the Director of Operations.

This is an on-site position.

The typical pay range for this role: $94,378 - $130,000 annually.

This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.

Requirements

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree and 5 years' experience in leading technical personnel within a tooling shop or machining environment OR 7-10 years progressive job experience and/or training within a tooling shop or machining environment preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills; effective business correspondence and reporting; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and business operating systems.
  • CAD software experience.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, attention to detail and thorough desire for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact across all levels of the organization, while accomplish organizational goals
  • Knowledge of engineering or technical operations including experience in product/engineering management.
  • Strong knowledge of blue print reading and familiarity with inspection equipment.
  • Understanding of component and/or mold manufacturing and ability to make decisions on in process tolerancing.
  • Ability to perform daily tasks in a safely manner.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision;
  • Ability to solve practical problems and work effectively with customers, suppliers and other departments.
  • Demonstrated well-developed leadership skills and able to develop, foster, and maintain a team-oriented work environment
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and process management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirement.

Essential Functions

  • Plans, directs, and coordinates entire mold build from concept through completion.
  • Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.
  • Develop, evaluate and improve mold building and manufacturing process techniques.
  • Lead team of toolmakers to complete projects to both quality and time requirements.
  • Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, resource capacity (man & machine), work flow and designs for maximum efficiency.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Investigate and report any accidents or incidents and implement preventive measures.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching and training to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Promote an environment where apprentices can grow and advance.
  • Assist in the estimating process when applicable.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit (using a computer), reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is also regularly required to stand and walk. The employee might occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 to 20 pounds.

Work Environment:

This is a non-smoking, professional tool shop with normal lighting, and climate control. This position may require the employee to conduct business on the manufacturing floor where they may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors.

Protective Clothing Required:

When in certain locations of the facility, eye and ear protection are required. Closed-toed shoes are also required in certain locations.
