Position Overview:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a critical role in shaping Mid-Atlantic FCU's financial strategy, ensuring long-term sustainability, and driving financial performance. As a key member of the executive team, the CFO will oversee financial planning, risk management, investment strategies, and

regulatory compliance, while fostering a culture of transparency and financial discipline.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Financial Leadership:

    • Develop and execute Mid-Atlantic FCU's financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
    • Advise the CEO and Board of Directors on financial performance, risk management, and strategic opportunities.
    • Lead financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling.


  • Financial Operations and Oversight:

    • Supervise accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash management functions.
    • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with regulatory and GAAP standards.
    • Oversee investment activities and maintain strong asset-liability management practices.


  • Risk Management and Compliance:

    • Manage liquidity, interest rate risk, and capital adequacy in accordance with NCUA regulations and industry best practices.
    • Develop and maintain internal controls and policies to mitigate financial and operational risks.
    • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure financial integrity.


  • Team Leadership and Development:

    • Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
    • Promote professional growth and development within the finance/accounting team.


  • Stakeholder Communication:

    • Serve as a liaison with regulators, auditors, and financial institutions as needed.
    • Prepare financial presentations for the Board of Directors and senior leadership.





Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally within the credit union or banking sector.
  • Deep understanding of financial regulations (NCUA, GAAP) and industry trends.
  • Strong strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
  • Experience with financial technology platforms and data analytics is a plus.
