TRC is seeking a qualified Resident Engineer (RE) to support the City of South San Francisco's Sewer Spot Repair Program. This full-time role begins in November 2025 and involves oversight of sewer spot repairs across multiple locations within the city. The selected candidate will serve as the City's field representative throughout construction, ensuring work is performed per contract documents, on schedule, and within budget.

• Serve as Resident Engineer for the Sewer Spot Repair Program.
• Provide construction oversight for multiple repair locations within South San Francisco.
• Coordinate with contractors, City staff, and design engineers.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
• Monitor construction progress and maintain project records.
• Conduct field inspections and verify completed work for pay applications.
• Prepare and issue daily reports, meeting minutes, and punchlists.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, permits, and safety standards.

• Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • California-licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in construction management or engineering inspection of municipal sewer systems.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a Resident Engineer on public works or utility projects.
  • Strong knowledge of trenching, shoring, and pipeline rehabilitation methods.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Must reside in the Bay Area and be available for periodic site visits during construction.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience serving as Resident Engineer or Construction Manager overseeing construction of wastewater infrastructure projects, either public or private.
  • Familiarity with Cal/OSHA trench safety and permit compliance.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
