The University of Virginia Division of Student Affairs invites applications for a Student Affairs Fellow. The University's mission to develop engaged citizen-leaders is the foundation of the Division of Student Affairs work, which is guided by six core values - academic rigor, diversity and inclusion, health and wellness, honor, public service, and student self-governance. The Division consists of over 200 employees all working together, for and alongside students, to create the distinctive student experience for which UVA is known.
The Student Affairs Fellow is a full-time position for a student who received an undergraduate degree from UVA in spring 2025 or has recently received a UVA undergraduate degree. As a staff member in the Division of Student Affairs, the Fellow works on the Vice President and Chief Student Affairs Officer's current, highest priorities while carrying out other duties related to the activities of the VPSA staff. The Fellow will conduct research, coordinate outreach and communications, and manage special projects as assigned by the Chief of Staff. This position has a 12-month term limit, with an anticipated start date of July 31, 2025, although there is flexibility for the start date. At the conclusion of the appointment, the Fellow will be required to submit a written summary report of accomplishments, including recommendations for current and future initiatives. Specific Duties and Responsibilities - Assists with and helps to execute special projects in the Office of the Vice President and Chief Student Affairs Officer such as
- Assists staff on the VPSA's Leadership Team with programs, projects and events, including
- With direction from the Chief of Staff and the Executive Director of Strategic Communications capture and develop communications materials geared towards a student audience and recent Alumni. Other Duties as Assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The anticipated hiring salary is $45,000 to $55,000. This position will remain open until filled. Review of applications will begin on June 3, 2025. This is an Exempt level, benefited position. Physical Requirements This is a primarily sedentary position, however occasionally moving/lifting items more than 40 pounds is necessary. All Fellow roles may work outside of the normal business day (8am-5pm) as well as nights and weekends as needed.
