Schedule: Tuesday - Friday, 4 days/9 hours, with weekend and holiday rotations

Your role with us
As a speech therapist at Salem Health, you'll be a vital part of our inpatient rehabilitation team, helping patients regain essential communication, cognitive, and swallowing functions after life-changing events such as stroke, brain injury, or spinal cord trauma. You'll work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment where your expertise directly supports patient recovery and quality of life. This role offers opportunities to expand your clinical skills through advanced assessments, mentorship, and continuing education-all while making a meaningful impact every day.
Our Inpatient rehabilitation team provides intensive therapy-three hours per day, five days a week-to patients recovering from stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, amputation, and other complex rehabilitation diagnoses.

• Conduct evidence-based evaluations for speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable, functional goals.
• Collaborate with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams to support care and discharge planning.
• Administer and interpret instrumental assessments (e.g., swallow studies) as appropriate.
• Document therapy sessions and billing accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with coverage guidelines.
• Provide exceptional patient care and customer service, fostering a supportive and respectful environment.
• Manage caseload efficiently, adapting to department needs and productivity expectations.
• Mentor and delegate tasks to clinical fellows and therapy aides as appropriate.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education opportunities.
