Your Role: Hands-On, Impactful, and Fast-Paced

As a Project Engineer in Nashville, Tennessee, you will play a critical role in managing and executing Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Special Inspection projects. You'll be the link between project execution and client satisfaction, ensuring quality and compliance while mentoring technical staff and leading field operations.



What You'll Do:

* Lead Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspection projects including coordination, execution, and client communication
* Review and generate cost estimates and proposals that align with project specs and codes (including IBC)
* Mentor and supervise technicians and junior engineers while maintaining compliance with plans and specifications
* Use Metafield and other systems to manage documentation and report testing results
* Represent S&ME in the engineering and construction community through meetings and professional networking organizations (e.g., ASCE, AGC, ACEC)



What We're Looking For:

* A Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or a similar Engineering field
* A minimum of 6 years of experience in construction materials testing and inspection
* A Professional Engineer (PE) license
* A strong foundation in math, verbal, and written communication in English
* A track record of business and technical writing success

Knowledge of local codes, field data systems, or experience with Metafield is a plus



What to Expect:

With the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

* Outdoor, hands-on work in all weather conditions
* Walking over rough terrain and standing for long periods (up to 12 hours)
* Lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs. of materials and equipment
* Safely handling field tools and maneuvering equipment on active construction sites
* Travel out of town, possibly overnight, and flexible scheduling outside normal business hours
