Overview

The Technical Associate is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, environmentally compliant, efficient and economical generation of electricity and/or steam by assisting the station scheduler with daily, weekly, and outage schedules.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Utilize Maximo to track and manage Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) work orders, weekly schedules, outage schedules, and Maximo Change Requests (MCR).
  • Support East River Work Control with a daily review of emergent work orders to identify priority of work, duplicate work orders, or the potential to cancel the pending work order.
  • Facilitate the daily Work Order Review Meeting with all station groups to ensure all new work orders are processed correctly.
  • Leverage the use of the Maximo Dashboard to understand and present a visual indication of our key metrics.
  • Develop a monthly report for EH&S to track all open safety work orders and track progress.
  • Create and manage the monthly report card to provide our metrics and data for review with the Vice President of Steam Operations.
  • Must have good communication skills and the ability to work in a professional manner with various Company departments and outside agencies.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Word, Excel, and Power Point. Must have the ability to cross reference reports for discrepancies and resolution.
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams across various departments
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Accounting, Math, or other equivalent field of study and full-time or internship experience will count towards the one-year minimum of work experience requirement; Candidates that have participated in the companys full-time college cooperative or summer cooperative internships for a minimum of six months meet the EP experience requirements.
Relevant Work Experience
  • Must have good communication skills and ability to work in a professional manner with various company departments and outside agencies, required.
  • Proficient in computer applications MS Word, Excel, Power Point, required.
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams across various departments, required.
  • Strong analytical skills, preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Driver's License Required
Physical Demands
  • Ability to respond to system emergencies
  • Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold
  • Perform heavy manual labor, i.e. push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to carry tools and materials when climbing ladders and scaffolds, and entering confined spaces
  • Work in, under, and on top of all types of company vehicles and/or equipment
  • Ability to work in adverse conditions that include, noise, confined spaces, and high elevations
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs
  • Ability to work on elevated platforms, scaffolds, catwalks, roofs, and/or other equipment
  • Perform work in underground vaults through manholes
  • Ability to work with, and in, the vicinity of high voltage and/or other high-energy systems
  • Ability to be approved to wear and use either a full or half-face respirator, without facial hair or other conditions that may interfere with the seal, in accordance with OSHA regulations
  • Ability to climb in and out of manholes and excavations
  • Stand, walk, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach for the duration of the workday
  • Ability to use hand tools and operate heavy machinery, i.e. jackhammers
  • Unload materials from delivery vehicles and deliver equipment and materials to various operating facilities
  • Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies
  • Use hand-eye coordination to adjust controls on equipment
  • Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses
  • Work rotating shifts, including nights, midnights, weekends, and holidays
  • Work with equipment with a manufacturer weight rating of 350lbs
  • Use equipment with a maximum weight rating of 375lbs when wearing and/or carrying 25lbs of clothing and equipment
  • Use personal vehicle(s), and be able to transport, store, and secure company laptops and other job-related equipment in vehicle. Acknowledge that reimbursement for use of personal vehicle is available through the company mileage procedure
Additional Physical Demands
  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
