Position Summary
The Schlaeger Lab is seeking a highly motivated, intelligent, and detail-oriented individual to join our human stem cell biology laboratory. We are looking for a candidate who is a quick learner, capable of acquiring new skills efficiently, and thrives in a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce, maintain, and conduct quality control on human pluripotent stem cells.
  • Perform cellular analysis using techniques such as immunostaining, flow cytometry, DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, and other molecular biology methods.
  • Operate laboratory instruments including flow cytometers, automated fluorescence microscopes, plate washers, plate readers, and liquid handling robotics.
  • Manage inventory by monitoring, ordering, and organizing supplies.
  • Prepare media and stock solutions for experiments.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional and federal guidelines regarding health, safety, and animal use regulations.
  • Develop research figures and protocols.
  • Mentor and instruct laboratory techniques.
  • Present research findings during lab meetings.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a closely related field

Experience:

  • Hands-on undergraduate research lab experience
  • Willingness to work with animals and human tissues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in following multi-step protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team in a goal-focused environment.
  • Ability to make a 2-year commitment.
