https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9ihImu88OQ&t=9s Summary of Job Duties:The Senior Assistant Athletic Trainer - football will serve in the department of Athletics and assist in the daily operations of the athletic training room for football. This position will be responsible for providing healthcare to student-athletes to include the prevention, evaluation, treatment, management, and rehabilitation of student-athletes' injuries and illnesses under the supervision of Team Physicians, Director of Sports Medicine and Head Athletic Trainers. This position will need to effectively communicate and work in conjunction with Team Physicians and Sports Medicine Staff on treatment and implementing rehabilitation protocols for injured athletes as well as ensure that equipment is properly used, and student-athletes are properly using the athletic training facilities. They will maintain medical records on student-athletes including physicals, insurance information, medical evaluation and rehabilitation reports, and medical referrals. This position will attend workouts when applicable, also attend practice and game events including travel as assigned with teams and schedule proper coverage for events including physicians, EMT's, staff and student athletic trainers. They will assist with the maintenance of athletic training equipment, monitor inventory, and assist with the preparation of budget request. This position must be able to effectively communicate with coaches regarding injured student athletes and medical policies and procedures and follow the NATA code of ethics, attend annual CEU courses and remain current with all national and state certifications and licensure. This position is required to comply with University, SEC and NCAA rules and regulations, supervise and educate graduate and undergraduate student athletic trainers and complete all other duties assigned by the Director of Sports Medicine and Head Athletic Trainers.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least one (1) year of experience as a BOC certified athletic trainer or athletic trainer/physical therapist

  • NATABOC Certification

  • Arkansas Athletic Trainer license (or eligible to obtain license)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with independent decision making related to care and treatment of injured and ill athletes

  • Experience in developing and implementing treatment and rehab programs

  • At least two (2) years of full-time experience working directly with NCAA Division I football

  • Experience working in the Southeastern conference and/or NFL

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and NCAA health care guidelines

  • Strong communication and documentation skills

  • Ability to collaborate with strength and conditioning, sport coaching staff, and performance analysts to ensure athlete safety and peak performance

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure during high-stakes games and medical emergencies

  • Ability to work nights and weekends (on-call 24/7, 365 days a year)
