Job Title:ILS Special Projects Manager Locations: Mathews, LA Position Overview: The ILS Special Projects Manager is a dynamic, solutions-driven leader responsible for driving critical initiatives across the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) function and supporting cross-functional business unit objectives. This highly visible role acts as a "utility player," flexing across internal training development, operational coordination, and strategic execution. The Special Projects Manager will work closely with project managers, technical managers, and workforce development leadership to ensure key initiatives are successfully executed, especially where integration and communication across functions are essential. Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a problem solver for high-impact projects across ILS and associated functions.
- Lead or support internal special projects that advance operational excellence, employee readiness, and technical integration.
- Act as a liaison between Project Managers, Technical Managers, and ILS teams to ensure alignment and timely execution of deliverables.
- Accountability for target delivery date attainment.
- Partner with the Workforce Training Manager to support the design, writing, and delivery of ILS Bootcamp curriculum.
- Align training content with current and future ILS project demands and technical standards.
- Bring structure and clarity to ambiguous initiatives across multiple shipyard locations.
- Develop documentation, process flows, and standard operating procedures that improve cross-site coordination.
- Facilitate meetings and project check-ins to ensure communication flow and accountability across teams.
- Support cultural and operational integration of the Mississippi facility by championing process consistency, communication, and collaboration.
- Ensure consistency of ILS practices across all sites and help build bridges between legacy Louisiana operations and the acquired Mississippi site.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Logistics, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 8+ years of experience in shipbuilding, logistics support, or operations project management.
- Extensive knowledge (8+ years) in both design and management of Government and Commercial ILS databases.
Skills and Abilities:
- Deep familiarity with ILS concepts, technical data management, configuration management, and training development.
- Strong written communication skills, particularly for curriculum or documentation creation.
