FOX Corporation is looking for a Manager, Production Safety! The Manager, Production Safety manages FOX Sports' (e.g., Field Operations, Pico Lot Studio, Big Ten Network, Charlotte/NASCAR) Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) programs. This EHS team member must be aware of federal, state, and local safety and environmental laws to ensure FOX complies with applicable regulations and industrywide standards. The Manager, Production Safety will rely on practical experience, instruction, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Leads and manages work that will affect others. Independent work activities and environments are expected (e.g., home office, remote sports productions, events, and seminars).

The Manager, Production Safety continuously strives for improvement opportunities across the organization; a wide degree of creativity, latitude, and independence is expected. The Manager, Production Safety coordinates the use of consultants, freelancers, Fire Safety Officers (FSOs), and interns as needed. You will work collaboratively with several business departments with minimal direction to manage efficient and effective programs that ensure compliance.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies
  • Conduct and coordinate EHS risk assessments
  • Implement controls and action plans for risk reduction
  • Meet with production/event personnel to understand the timeline and potential risks
  • Review hazard and risk assessments for production locations and sports venues
  • Review injury investigation reports and other related documents and determine the need for corrective actions, further investigation, follow up and/or reporting to regulatory agencies
  • Communicate with production management to discuss and support EHS-related issues
  • Identify safety equipment needs and controls for productions
  • Analyze and respond to safety concerns, and ensure quick and appropriate resolution
  • Coordinate periodic workplace inspections to ensure regulatory compliance and conformance to FOX EHS requirements
  • Respond to and investigate incidents and injuries as necessary
  • Verify personnel/crew members have received appropriate EHS training
  • Work with industrywide organizations to develop and implement employee injury prevention strategies and programs
  • Program management support including Production Safety, weather monitoring and lightning protection systems, and hazardous materials shipping

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant academic area (Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, Fire Safety) or commensurate work experience in the field of Medical Services, Production, and/or Sports Broadcasting Safety
  • 5+ years in a dedicated EHS Management position and/or equivalent program responsibilities
  • Project management experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge and understanding of ISO 45001/14001 and OSHA Standards
  • Strong working knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Able to prioritize and work within time and budgetary constraints
  • Ability to exercise professional judgment, sometimes in difficult or stressful conditions, in assessing hazards and demanding corrections
  • Ability to multitask and manage a variety of sports packages during extensive travel
  • Ability to interact productively with a broad range of people and personalities; use diplomacy and tact to resolve difficult issues
  • Proven continuous improvement focus and principal understanding
  • Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs and schedules of productions, events, and broadcasts
  • Understanding of the sensitivity of certain information and showing appropriate discretion in sharing it

NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP) for being on a path toward the CSP certification, waiving the need for passing the ASP examination
  • Advanced degree in an EHS-related field
  • Relevant OSHA training courses or seminars
  • ISO Standards Training (Awareness, Auditor, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Monday.com, Intelex, Formstack, etc.

    Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $83,000.00-100,000.00 annually for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles, $69,100.00-83,300.00 annually for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
