What You Will Do:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Accounting Analyst to oversee and manage all aspects of inventory accounting and reporting. This role is critical in ensuring accurate valuation, reconciliation, and control of inventory across the plant. The Inventory Accounting Analyst will be responsible for validating inventory movements, identifying systemic issues, and creating actionable insights through data-driven reporting. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to support cost control, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP systems (e.g., Plex), including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Perform monthly inventory reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Analyze inventory transactions and ensure proper costing and classification.
• Support physical inventory counts and cycle count programs, lead root cause analysis for discrepancies.
• Partner with operations to monitor scrap, obsolescence, and excess inventory.
• Prepare inventory-related journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Perform special projects aimed at supporting various operational excellence initiatives, controlling expenses, increasing profits, improving cashflow, and improving efficiency at the plant.
• Assist in standard cost updates and BOM reviews.
• Support internal and external audits related to inventory.
• Provide inventory reporting and insights to support CAPEX planning and plant performance reviews.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, Business or related, and at least three years' experience in inventory accounting or cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and inventory valuation methods (FIFO, LIFO, standard costing).
• Proven experience assessing problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the issue
• Experience analyzing transactional level details in an ERP (Oracle, Peoplesoft, PLEX or similar) system and articulate the key findings to management
• Advanced MS Office Skills; Advanced EXCEL user, Pivot table, VLOOKUP, etc.
