Essential Job Duties |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Consult with instructors in identifying and writing up learning objectives, designing course structure and course map, designing and developing learning materials and activities, integrating appropriate technology tools based on teaching and learning needs.
- Supports the basic Moodle site development of Hybrid Learning grant projects, including setting up Moodle structure based on the course design, creating and duplicating module templates, adapting course orientation materials, and setting up the course roadmap.
- Assists other colleagues and development teams within the department in researching, brainstorming, developing, implementing and evaluating innovative and pedagogically-sound solutions for addressing instructional challenges.
- Collaborate with team members to create and/or remediate course content to meet basic accessibility standards, including adding captions, writing alt text, remediating PDF documents, and correcting document structure.

- Participates in projects and initiatives as assigned.

Minimum Experience/Education |
Masters degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, Educational Media, Instructional Systems Design, Educational Psychology, or related field.

- Masters degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, Educational Media, Instructional Systems Design, Educational Psychology, or related field.
- Experience designing and producing web-based course materials, including instructional websites, web graphics, web resources, and other digital course materials.
- Experience in project management, including managing time, establishing priorities, distributing responsibilities, and meeting milestones and deliverables.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, ability to work in a team and establish collegial relationships with faculty and staff.
- Experience in using and developing content for online course management systems (e.g. Moodle).
- Professional preparation in using an array of instructional technologies including hardware and software, multimedia technologies, the Internet, and distributed/distance learning techniques.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies as related to teaching and learning.

- Experience working with faculty on course design in a higher education setting.
- Experience in designing and developing hybrid learning and flipped classroom courses.
- Experience in using AI tools for course design and student learning.
- Experience with enterprise learning technologies used at NC State (e.g. Moodle, Panopto, Playposit, Zoom).
- Proficiency in using HTML and designing/developing webpages.
- Experience with digital accessibility.
