Overview

Do you consider yourself to be a highly technical, strong communicator with the desire to work in a team environment on complex projects? Gilbane is seeking an IDC Manager to oversee reviews on multiple projects, works with the Business Development team during pursuits and project interviews to secure IDC Services, and works with PX across the region to forecast and secure IDC Services timing. The IDC Manager updates and maintains the MicroStrategy database of IDC services, manages all levels of IDC Reviewers, and reports to the Senior IDC Manager.

Responsibilities

Time is split between reviewing projects in specialized discipline and managing, tracking and maintaining all IDC Projects for the department.

Review

    Competent in reviewing construction documents (plans and specifications) to identify any issues or discrepancies.
  • Investigate cross discipline coordination issues
  • Ability to clearly articulate Coordination Issues in a written format.

Project

  • Schedules and facilitates the Design Team and/or Client Kick- Off Call prior to the start of the IDC services.
  • Participate in presentations to clients, designers, and construction teams.
  • Coordinates with Project Leads to ensure deliverables are met projects are tracked appropriately.
  • Ensures Assessment checklist is updated and functions productively for Leads
  • Track all completed reviews and updates MicroStrategy Database and Dashboards.
  • Develops quality assurance of review
  • Active participation in weekly IDC Meetings to highlight Project & team specific needs/information.
  • Ensures baseline for documents and procedures to ensure consistency within IDC processes.
  • Explores ways to improve/streamline processes in Procore.

Team

  • Facilitates individual check-ins with IDC Team members as needed
  • Supports progress of individuals goals and personal growth along with Sr. IDC Manager.
  • Reviews and Approves Team IDC Expenses. Final approval by Sr. IDC Manager.
  • Collaborates with Sr. IDC Manager to plans for certifications and trainings of Team members throughout the year.
  • Supervises revision of IDC Policies and Procedures. Works with Sr. IDC Manager
  • Collaborates with Sr. IDC Manager to plan and coordinate IDC Week

Department

  • Supports implementation of IDC Strategic Plan
  • Prepares fee proposals and cost assessments.
  • Develops forecast for IDC Workload.
  • Manages review team labor resources and track review expenses to ensure workload is successfully completed.
  • Oversees and approves review strategies for multiple reviews.
  • Ensures all review deadlines and budget constraints are met.
  • Maintains timely contact with construction team members to secure Life Safety Audits and Compliance Checks.
  • Successfully performs or oversees completion of Life Safety Audits and Compliance Checks.
  • Track all completed reviews and updates MicroStrategy Database and Dashboards.
  • Schedules and facilitates weekly team meetings


Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering preferred
  • 12+ years of experience in the construction field, in a design environment, or in a related field
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Architectural or Engineering Licensure preferred
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Advanced knowledge of construction documents and specifications
  • Ability to motivate team members
  • Strong change management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized
  • Strong computer skills within Microsoft Office Suite and IDC software
  • Self-disciplined

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
The salary for this role ranges from $85,000.00-$121,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
