NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Robotics Instructor to provide comprehensive instruction in robotics systems and automation technologies. This role is pivotal in developing the regional workforce by training both students and incumbent industry professionals in skills aligned with industry-recognized certifications. This is a 12 month faculty position.
Essential Duties:
Teach robotics courses aligned with industry-recognized certifications, including, but not limited to: HandlingTool Operations, iRVision, DCS, and Collaborative Robot programming Guide students and incumbent industry professionals through simulation software and hands-on lab environments Emphasize safety, real-world applications, and workforce readiness in all instructional activities Design, build, and maintain robotics work cells, safety zones, and equipment setups for training purposes Operate and manage technical equipment such as CNC machines, laser cutters, 3D printers, vinyl cutters, and microcontroller stations Troubleshoot, upgrade, and maintain lab computers and networked systems using tools like Active Directory, DHCP, VMware, and FOG Collaborate with K-12 partners, workforce organizations, and industry leaders to expand robotics education access and impact Support dual enrollment and other initiatives that provide access to robotics instruction for high school and adult learners Provide upskilling and customized training for incumbent workers and employer-sponsored participants Engage in field trips, industry site visits, grant-funded activities, and events to promote program visibility and partnership Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher in a relevant technical field (e.g., Computer Information Systems, Robotics, Engineering Technology) Certification or documented experience in industry-standard robotics systems At least 3 years' experience in robotics, automation, or technical instruction Demonstrated ability to train both students and incumbent workers in applied technology environments Proficiency in managing and supporting lab technologies, operating systems, and IT infrastructure Note: A combination of education, relevant certifications, and/or substantial industry or education experience may be considered in lieu of formal degree requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching experience at the high school, adult education, or college level Familiarity with makerspace tools and instructional practices Experience in curriculum development aligned to certifications or industry frameworks Strong technical support skills in computing, networking, and systems integration
