The Opportunity

  • Payroll Analyst at a growth-oriented energy company
  • Gain hands-on experience in payroll operations for a multi-state dynamic organization
  • Learn and grow within a supportive team with exposure to diverse operations including refining, logistics, and retail
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements and process efficiencies
  • Reporting to the Sr. HR Manager, Payroll and Process Excellence, you will be providing exemplary service to our various stakeholders by ensuring accurate collection, entry and verification of personal employee and timekeeping data into the Company's HRIS

Key activities include:

  • Prepare and process bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls within our Dayforce system, including data entry, audits and resolution of payroll and timekeeping issues
  • Troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and responds to employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation updates in accordance with company policies
  • Participate in payroll audits and payroll related report generation
  • Manage data entry and corrections, payroll related reconciliations, accounting reporting and other tasks as requested
  • Resolve standard tax issues, address complex issues with our tax vendors, run tax audits and manage workflow of various tax requests and notices
  • Interpret and administer court orders for employee wage garnishments
  • Review and ensure timely execution of stock-related payrolls
  • Actively contribute to complex projects as assigned

Qualifications

To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Minimum one year of experience in an office work environment required. Experience in payroll, HR, Accounting or finance preferred
  • High School diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field a plus
  • Exposure to payroll or HRIS systems is strongly preferred (Ceridian Dayforce preferred but not required)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills required
  • Good communication skills and willingness to learn required
  • Proven track record of being able to acclimate to new systems and processes quickly preferred
  • Familiarity and working knowledge with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, dashboards preferred
