Job Description:

Position Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Engineering Intern to join our Engineering and Technical Services team for the summer. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the project lifecycle, from design support and technical reviews to construction coordination and commissioning preparation. The role is ideal for a student eager to apply engineering knowledge to real-world renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Support engineering reviews of technical submittals, construction drawings, and equipment specifications for solar, wind, and/or energy storage projects.

  • Assist in the evaluation and tracking of technical compliance with project standards, grid codes, and design criteria.

  • Participate in technical quality reviews, field audits, and commissioning readiness activities.

  • Help develop and maintain tools and templates used to assess system performance, constructability, and design optimization.

  • Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation packages for project turnover to operations.

  • Assist with troubleshooting and root cause analysis related to equipment issues or system underperformance.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams in development, construction, operations, and procurement.

  • Conduct research on emerging technologies, equipment improvements, and industry best practices.

Required/ Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a four-year degree in Engineering

  • Have and maintain a GPA of 2.75 or higher

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Renewable Energy Engineering.

  • Familiarity of renewable energy systems, electrical infrastructure, or construction processes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; exposure to software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or Procore is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills in both technical and field environments.

  • Interest in field-based work and construction environments; ability to travel to project sites may be required.

  • Passion for clean energy and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
